Why is it so important to have a nutritional drink immediately after working out?
kimchee_boi asked:
They say try to have a nutritional, high protein supplement, in my case a drink no more than 30 min after working out. Why is that?

You need to replace the nutrients you have used in your work out.
Sweating could cause you do lose potassium, which would cause muscle cramps, and if severe an electrolyte imbalance.
A strenuous work out will drop your blood sugar.
Fluids need replaced to prevent dehydration.
Thats just a couple of reasons. Chuck M

Check out this site about it. When I used to go to the gym a lot, I took high-protein energy bars to eat after. It’s kinda like when you get up in the morning and might be a bit shaky or weak before you get something to eat. Your body needs a heavy dose of protein when it is low, such as sleeping for 8 hours or working it off by working out. Casey Lea A

A nutrition drink replaces all the mineral in you body that you burn when you sweat. Also after you work out your metabolism is working faster(up to 1 hr. after) so it will transfer the minerals and vitamins to you body faster. rchl_wlsn

its due to when u work out u break down ur muscles and then they rebuild during ur sleep. and muscle need protein to rebuild n if u dont have a sufficient amount of protein and other nutrients in ur system they wont build as fast or strong. so by takin a supplement ur replacing the nutrients u used during ur work out feeding ur muscle so they can regrow stronger. dam
