glucosamine is excellent for recovery and maintenance of ligaments and tendons and also connective tissue between the joints.

There are no proven supplements other than basic nutrition. Glucosamine is promoted for cartilage. It hasn’t been shown to hurt, but results are definitely on an individual basis.
Basic modalities for soft tissue healing are cold, heat, and therapeutic exercise (which includes stretching).
Bob Anderson’s book “Stretching” is a classic. Very simple drawings and perhaps the most plagarized book in sports. Available online and most bookstores.
