I’m trying to bulk up but I don’t have enough protein in my diet to make results stay. Would a protein supplement help? Or is it unhealthy for a 16 year old male to take one? Lastly, if it’s fine, which type pill or powder?

Thanks for any and all help!

I would like to become a vegetarian but I want to do it in a healthy and intelligent way. I also work out very often, so I am worried about my protein levels effecting my health. I was just wondering though how to make up for some of the protein? I have thought about taking Whey protein but someone told this may be unhealthy depending on certain blood types. Is there any other good foods or ways to supplement protein into my diet?

I started a 3 day a week work out routine ( mon , wed, fri)

i was told to have a shake of whey protein after each work out within an hour

i bought this stuff because it had the most protein for the value

http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2767653&cp&sr=1&origkw=pro+nos&kw=pro+nos&parentPage=search

it contains 42g of protein per shake

now the directions say to drink 2 of these shakes everyday and on the training days to drink one of the two within an hour of finishing your work out

should i just drink one within an hour of finishing working out on the 3 days , or drink the 2 shakes everyday as the directions state? And if so, when is the best to drink the 2nd shake?

Also, the guy in GNC said i have to watch out with what i eat because of overloading my kidneys with protein so what should my diet consist of and what do i need to stay away from? and if i only have the drink once on the 3 days of working out do i still need to watch what i eat?
Thank yo

I’m looking for a good (and hopefully good tasting) protein supplement. I don’t work out, I just don’t think I get enough protein from my diet. I’ve tried muscle milk, but that seems to have a bunch of extra stuff in it like creatine for working out. Any ideas? I hate the bars and would prefer a shake…

I find it hard to eat enough protein on the (excellent) Atkins diet. And get fed up with meat! Can I use the protein drinks as a meal supplement? Do they have carbs in them?
