Langston G asked: Are there any natural/organic powders or pills I can take to gain muscle mass before football season? I see tons of things in the magazines that advertise different powders and drinks (i.e. Muscle Milk), and they seem to work because I see a lot of the strong people on my team use them, but I don’t know if their safe, and if there will be any side effects in the future.
What are some natural supplements I can take to gain muscle mass along with working out and lifting weight. I’m not trying to lose weight, I’m trying to gain weight in muscle. Im looking for powders/pills/shakes that will help build muscle and that will not cause health problems in the future.

I’m an 18-year-old runner who leads a very active lifestyle. I eat the right foods but am concerned it may not be enough. I’ve been trying to increase my muscle mass just a little and was wondering if taking protein or amino acid supplements would help to aid the process.
