Vitamins & supplements, when to take, how to take, what to take in combination?

I take a LOT of supplements. As soon as I see a story on a particular vitamin, mineral or other supplement, I go out and I buy some and then use it for a few days/weeks. But I feel as if I’m wasting my money because I don’t really see any difference in how I feel.

I’d like to know if there are particular times of day that it’s best to take certain supplements. What vitamins I should take with food and what type of foods in particular. What vitamins/supplements I should not take together. What vitamins/minerals/herbal supplements are recommended for a woman in her 40’s with a mild thyroid problem.

Finally, which supplements will have the most impact on energy and brain function. I eat relatively healthy - no fast food, little junk food, lots of fruit, veggies and fish. I exercise as much as I can, but often have little energy or motivation. I’m 20 lbs overweight, but feel it may be due to missing nutrients because at times, I have incredible bursts of energy. Any suggestions??
