Decided to supplement my diet and exercise with protein, whats the best way to do it? Help?

I’ve started exercising a lot more (joined the RAF) and I’ve been looking into supplementing my diet with protein. After a friend told me about MaxiMuscle I thought about trying it.
However MaxiMuscle is so expensive!! I was looking into getting the Pro Max or Pro Max diet but it’s so damn expensive. So what other brands are there or what else could I do to get the same effect?
At the moment I am struggling to find things to eat for breakfast as I often don’t have time or get up very early. So what appealled to me was the idea of having a shake for breakfast, then eating normal lunch, exercising and having a shake after, then a normal dinner.
I’m looking to lose fat and just tone up in general really, without paying the earth for something like MaxiMuscle. If it really is just the best then I will pay it, so long as I get results. If not, what else is there, or how else can I do it?
I put this is men’s health because I figured that men use these products more than women and might have a better idea about it all
