from what i’ve read- if you eat a balanced healthy diet, you WILL get more than enough protein to supply yourself the energy and such to go through with exercise and weight lifting. it’s more of WHAT you do while you are weight lifting that will get you the results you desire.
a website with some good info on exercises and stuff:
they have training tips, and different exercises. there’s also a forum on there- i can imagine it will have a lot of good info from all different kinds of people… i haven’t looked through that part, but did read that there is different types of lifting- so you may be interested in checking out the site to get some ideas on accomplishing your goals.
good luck!

I am going to assume that u want to become stronger and grow bigger muscles. Im talking in the range of 16-17″ biceps.
Balanced diet is good as it will keep u healthy and maintain a good metabolic rate. but to grow muscles u will need protein supplements. There are different kinds of proteins. whey protein, ceasin protein, soy protein. Milk contains 20% whey and 80% caesin. to build muscles, u will need something that supplies a good dose of whey protein eg abt: 30 gms of protein. They are fast acting proteins that get absorbed by the muscles very quickly. Get digested by the body very easily and start showing results very quickly. if u want to buil bigger muscles. a good diet will not b able to b as effective as protein supplements because regular food is not a significant source of whey proteins. The only proteins found in them are soy and caesin. However. If ur not looking to get big anytime soon and are willing to wait. in that case a balanced diet will serve the same purpose.
Body muscles comprise of fast twitching and slow twitching muscle fibres. Depending on which one is of greater percentage in ur body, ur muscles will develop accordingly with the proportional time.

To build quality muscle you must strength train. As you get stronger you build more muscle. The best exercises are one that work at 3 muscle groups together such as:
•Squats
•Deadlifts
•Chin ups
•Rows
•Dips
•Overhead Pressing
Strength training avoids any major arm work like curls and triceps extensions. Strength training will build muscle while losing body fat - 3 times per week. However the right nutrition is key.
To build muscle your nutrition needs to be at least 80% natural healthy good food from healthy natural sources. That means avoid the supermarket as much as you can eat foods that come from healthy sources. My rule of thumb is this healthy soils = healthy grass = healthy animals = healthy farms = healthy processes = healthy people. Avoid unhealthy foods anything that have been processed i.e foods in boxes or tins. Food boxes and tins became popular because of wars.
•Protein - 1 to 1.5g per lb of bodyweight daily from meat, eggs, dairy, whey and fish.
•Fat – 0.5g per lb of bodyweight coming from a source of healthy saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats such as meats, eggs, milk, cheese, coconut oil, avocado’s, olive oil and cod liver oil
N.B Saturated fat and cholesterol raise your testosterone levels. Testosterone is necessary to build muscle and lose fat.
•Vegetables. As much as you can eat. All kinds, especially fibrous vegetables
•Fruit. - Apples or Berries. Keep the vegetables high and fruits to 1-2 pieces a day.
•Whole grain food. Healthy whole grains are buckwheat and quinoa.
•Avoid trans fats, junk food and fizzy drinks.
If you can do this your need for supplements will be much less
Hope that Helps
