Is the nutritional supplement drink TwoCal HN safe for puppies? ?

Nutritional Supplement
Jeh asked:

I only ask this because my sister, who works in a nursing home place, tried to give some to my 4 month old Labrador puppy when I visited her at work. She argued that it was full of “nutrition and stuff” and “good for her”, but I just didn’t feel comfortable with my puppy drinking it; a HUMAN supplement. (Also my puppy is 110% healthy and gets the best care around by me so there is no need for that extra supplementation.) When I asked her to respect my wishes and not give her anymore she laughed and then took the offense. Also ignoring my request. I left right after. Luckily my dog didn’t get to drink very much. I found out later that the second ingredient in this is corn syrup solids.

Hi there… as a general rule, most products for human consumption may be unsafe for pet animals. Some foods we consume can be lethal to pet animals. Chocolate is a good example as theobromine (ingredient in chocolate) is deadly to dogs.

Only a veterinarian can best advise otherwise. I would highly encourage you to contact a veterinarian regarding your concern and they can best advise you if this can be harmful so you can help educate your sister on the dangers of this thought/practice. ♪ Seattle ♫
