ephedra is derived from a plant called ma huang that was used reasonably commonly in chinese medicine for asthma amongst other things.

It’s a stimulant that mimicks norepinepherine and epinephrine, or adrenaline, raising your heart rate, constricting your blood vessels, and dilating your bronchioles (this its affect on asthma). This also happens to be useful to athletes and as a weightloss substance.

I’ve always thought of it as a weightloss thing, so i’m not sure if ephedra is what you’re talking about. Andy

Ephedrin or ephedra is a banned substance, it is used in some countrys as a treatment for chest infections and respiratory disorders, with the side effect of rapid weight loss.
I take Dare to Bare and buy them from the internet, but its a UK based company so they have a help line. They just help to supress my appetite so i eat less and the woman who i spoke to advised me to drink more water which also makes you lose weight. Charli♥Teddy

Ephedra was one of the best asthma medications you could get. It was also used by serious athletes to cut fat. But then fat, lazy housewives decided to abuse it for losing weight, so it got banned. Seagull

Yes Ephedra was banned, but mostly because people were abusing it. Its very powerful, and you gotta do what the label says. Its banned in Diet Pills, but I see pure ephedra all the time at gas stations, esp truck stops. I guess they use it to stay awake. If you so happened to buy some pure ephedra, you could combine it with Aspirin, and Caffeine. This called an ECA stack, a very popular fat burning combination when USED CORRECTLY. Hope this helped you out. F350
