I have heard fom many, MANY breeders and trainers that a raw foods diet is not that great for your dog. I know how people feel about them (wolves eat raw food, why shouldn;t my dog), but you have to understand the times we're living in right now. Dogs adapt/evolve very quickly, and their diets follow suit. Nowadays, there are very few dogs/breeds who can survive (healthy) and a raw foods or BARF diet. If you want to feed our dog an all natural diet, there are two excellent brands out their for you to try:
Dick Van Patten's dog food (all natural, real meat, no fillers AT ALL. My firend feeds her dog this and she is a great looking dog)
Natural Choice dog food (this is what I feed my dog. it too is all natural with real meat and no fillers. it is also less expencive than DVP's food).

Raw is an excellent diet, especially for large breeds. We feed our Rotties a mix of commercial raw, raw meat parts and oils like salmon oil. I would recommend a well balanced raw brand like Natural Balance, Nature's Variety or Prairie. They all have raw meat as well as veggies, vitamins and minerals. We also alternate with chicken thighs, turkey and duck necks and lamb pieces. Dogs can have bird bones as long as they are raw or pressure cooked.

The very best place for you to start is

It is essential for you to know and understand what proper raw canine nutrition is and the role EFA's (Essential Fatty Acids) , play in the raw diet.

Here are more excellent links as well:

Excellent Raw Fed Dogs Info
Excellent, no nonsense link to information about raw fed dogs

Raw Feeding
The ultimate appropriate RAW feed group

Raw Pet Food - The best food to feed your dog
Raw Pet Food - The best food to feed your dog, cat, or other domesticated animal

Raw Vets
Veterinary Referrals - who support Raw Feeding Regime

Hope this is helpful
My personal opinion is that you should join and consult the above groups to get hands on, accurate, detailed information. Asking in a general forum will not necessarily get you the direct answers your require, and fooling around with a dog's raw diet, is not necessarily a good idea. Good that you asked the question in the first place. Sounds like you are really concerned about your pet and willing to take the right steps to raw feeding success!

All the best

I feed the same to my yorkie. The most important part of their diet is protein. Sounds like your dog is getting all of the benefits from the home made food. I cannot even say the word "chicken" without my dog freaking! Not sure about the "good-oils" part. You might want to check with vet on that part:)

The best list I have ever found is the K9 Nutrition list. It's a yahoogroups list. It is a list for raw only, raw + kibble and kibble only. All are expected to be tolerant of all styles of feeding.
