The ECA stack is used in most weight loss supplements, and has proven to be very effective. Their combined effects include alertness, appetite suppressant, a stimulant, higher blood pressure, faster heart beat etc. For example, caffeine increases the level of circulating fatty acids, and this has been shown to enhance fat oxidation. Unfortunately, ephedrine is known to cause many undesirable side effects in users, and have many reported cases of heart attacks and worse, death. As far as I know, the FDA is seriously considering banning ephedrine based fat burners and products all together. I personally have taken both Hydroxycut ephedrine free, and Hydroxycut Hardcore with ephedrine. The both do a good job of reduce fate and appetite suppressant, because they are both based on the ECA stack. However I have seen faster and more effective results from the ephedrine based Hydroxycut.
