How unhealthy is it to replace one meal a day with a food supplement tablet?
Lola Rice asked:
I know that you should never replace your whole diet with food supplement tablets, but is it very unhealthy to have, say, breakfast and dinner but replace lunch with a tablet?

Yes,
If you’re fat, just eat a balanced diet and do some excerise. Cut out the burgers and cakes - you’ll be amazed at the result. too_bad

It’s unhealthy and stupid and against human nature. Make better food choices; don’t pop pills. Seagull

You are actually on the right path in choosing to replace your mid-day meal with a supplement, as long as it does not cause you to become famished by dinnertime and you eat every thing in site. Since, you do not mention how much or what type exercise you are getting, assuming you are, a better approach would be to eat a small meal every three hours (approx. 6 a day) include some sort of protein in each meal. Alternately you can do the same but replace two for those meals with a protein supplement shake. Achilles

Its extremely unhealthy. If you are trying to lose weight by doing this, you are setting yourself up for some massive weight regain. The best thing to do would be to start exercise and eat HEALTHY. Paramjit
