A whole industry has built up around them. I think it`s a way of people fooling themselves. They`ve shown time and time again, that a lot of the diet stuff has more preservatives and is often higher in sugar and salt than the normal stuff. It`s all about balance. Treating yourself to a cream cake, pizza or full fat coke won`t kill you, as long as you make an effort to eat fresh foods, as much as you can. How many food scares have we had. First, it was have butter rather than margerine. Well, butter is a natural food, margerine isn`t and it tastes revolting anyway. Then don`t have too many eggs. Eggs are a good source of protein and iron. Then it was coffee. As if having a few cups of coffee is going to lead a healthy person to the undertakers. Have a bit of what you fancy. Nobody really knows, why some people live to 100 and some don`t. Genetics probably has a lot to do with it also.
