best to have a good balanced diet….feed the body what it needs.
if your a bit down or ill they can be used as a boost…
you can do your body harm with some vitamins in high dosage..

There’s no strong evidence to either support or refute it. Most studies show no difference in health between groups that take vitamins and groups that don’t; a few show positive results and a few negative.
Generally, if you’re healthy and eat a balanced diet then you don’t need vitamin supplements, as you’ll get sufficient vitamins in your diet. Having high amounts of vitamins isn’t any better for you than having a normal amount.
The only people who are likely to need them are people who have malabsorption syndromes that prevent them from absorbing food properly - diseases like Crohn’s, Coeliacs etc.
So, if you’re healthy and eat a good diet, you’ll not get any benefits from vitamin supplements. Hope this helps!

Taking a multi-vitamin and mineral supplement every day is a real good idea for Americans. We don’t eat right anymore and most of the food we do eat does not have the nutritional values the human body needs. However, don’t over do it. Readers Digest (November 2007, I think) had an article about vitamins that indicate supplements can be bad for you. In another issue the talked about Vitamin D and how REALLY important that one is. It all gets a bit confusing. The Human body is so incredible complex that we don’t fully understand these sort of things. Vitamins allow certain metabolic functions to operate properly. The USDA recommended daily amounts are obviously too low a level for today’s Americans. But super-dosing is bad. You want the minerals too. Things like calcium, iron and all that stuff is definitely something we need every day. For men, do not take Iron supplements. It’s bad for the blood vessels. If you donate some blood or bleed for some reason then supplement for a few days. Women need Iron supplements every day. Something like GNC’s Mega-Men or Mega-Women vitamin-mineral complex is ideal. Take one a day with a meal.
