i had 2 hamsters that lived long lives without salt in their diets, so i wouldnt be too worried. but do make sure to give your hammie fruit and veggies with plenty of vitamins and something to chew on to keep healthy teeth.

Hamsters don’t necessarily need salt in their diet but they do enjoy it sometimes. I have a salt wheel in my hamster’s home and he licks and nibbles off it every now and then. They’re not expensive at all and your hamster will probably appreciate it. I think buying one would be a great idea.

the salt helps them drink more water so if the hamster isn’t drinking too much then get salt if not they are ok with out it
