    The difference is the concentration.

Essential oils are part essential oil, part carrier oil.

I’m willing to bet if you looked closely at the labels, the Rite Aid brand concentration would be a whole lot lower than the health food store one. J C

Coconut oil goes rancid (smells soapy)very easily when exposed to water, a little dust (which has bacteria in it) & warmth. The higher the natural vit. E level, or added anti-oxidants the longer it will last. Health shops tend to have huge mark-ups, but the other price does look a little low. You can try both but I am afraid the rancidity may get to you- or your friends!! John C

Although there may be a difference in the concentration & quality, the biggest difference is most likely in the retail mark-up cost (profit margin). Rite Aid is a national chain of discount stores. Their mark-up on items will likely be much less than an independent health store. It’s the same reason small, independent retailers can’t compete with Wal Mart, Target & similar discount chains. Xeod
