I see a lot of posts on here saying that we have the best health care in the world and the evidence is that people come here from other countries to get care. I agree that we have the best health CARE in the world.

What is being discussed is health care coverage, not health care. That is, the way health care is paid for.

Do you understand the difference?

What does the current health care bill do to reduce cost in health care itself?

☠LCPL USMC (AH-1W death machine) asked:

All you hear are liberals spewing their propaganda about how premiums will supposedly go down. How will premiums go down if the actual cost to provide health care services does not decrease? And if you think that actual health care costs (not insurance premiums) will decrease, how will this bill accomplish that?

What is more just: rationing health care based upon bureaucratic decisions or ability to pay?

C.S. asked:

Both socialzed and free market health care ration health care.

In socialized health care, care is rationed based upon bureaucratic decisions.
In “free market” health care, care is rationed based upon the ability of the person to pay.

Which is more just?
Which is more just for a child?

How many conservatives would be for public health care before the Obama/Romney plan?

Back from Sex Rehab asked:

There is nothing good in a Obama/Romney type plan and it only increases cost, The MA plan is already much more expensive. If forced into reform, is the full public takeover the better option with private insurance as an option or supplement?
Don’t forget that the total amount expended would still be the same “IF” the government was efficient.

Why have Members of the AARP not found another voice to object to the Board members that back the Health Care?

It seems to me if they were against it you would hear a lot of griping. Could it be that AARP is also their Insurance provider ( supplement ) and they can’t speak out or they will lose it?

How would health insurance businesses be able to stay viable if the Senate bill is passed?

As I understand it, the bill forces all Americans to have health insurance. However, I think that the fine for having no health insurance is around $750. But after the year 2014, health insurance companies will not be able to turn customers away for preexisting conditions. Why wouldnt someone pay the fine or buy low end coverage until they got ill and supplement the coverage or buy an extensive plan?

What would the ramifications of Universal Health Care in the US be?

Mr. Perfect asked:

Here are my thoughts…

We already have government run health care (medicare) and it does not work well… as a matter of fact, most people have to suppliment it with a private policy.

Who thinks it’s a good idea to have the government approve or dissaprove what you made need for your well being? What happens whenthe costs exceed the budget… you didn’t need that finger anyhow… you have nine others, right?

Are any advances going to be made in the medical field? Who will pay for that research? Will we lose specialists because they will not want to go through extended schooling only to be told what they will make with accordance to what the government wants to pay?

Is it fair that while I do everything I can to keep healthy I need to fit the bill for some alcoholic who smokes and needs expensive medical treatment?

Yes, I think that like life insurance or auto insurance, the better YOU are, the less it should cost. Health care should be the same.

What do you think?
For you “one liner” answers like “it’s only for the rich” or “everyone will be treated like a human being”. Try to answer what the ramifications would be…. I stated examples. One line Pie in the Sky answers don;t solve anything. Fact is, most Americans do have health coverage and for those that don;t there are free clinics and unrefused ER attention. There is tons of government aid in these fields as well. SO show me how American’s aren’t treated like human beings when compared to billions of people in the world, many of whom can’t even get the most simple of vaccinations. And what else should the “rich” pay for to better YOUR life?

I pay for my own health care with 4 kids and a stay at home mom. YES, it’s possible… because I know it is more important to my family than a play station, ipod, designer clothes, a certain car and so on. Those in “poverty” in this country still have these things. When they are ready to prioritize their values, then lets talk.

Do you think barrack Obama is thinking like a communist?

Elvis asked:

Do you agree that having health care for every American is going to be worth it? Assuming that the rich will have to carry the poor. It is said that barracks stragedy is to suppliment the poor, immigrants, illegals etc with intention to decrease the higher class, people who work for a living and make something for themselves to pay off the poor. Meanwhile at th same time great healthcare providers will be diminished from work places so that everyone can have it. Sounds good on paper!
