Laura A asked: I like learning about food and nutrition (including the science behind it). However, I’m also pretty sure I want to be an engineer. I start college next year and want to pick a major that will suit my interests. Right now, my major is Civil Engineering, but I have come to love learning about nutrition, etc. Does anyone have any ideas?

lilmama asked: I want to know of some legit online colleges that have courses for nutrition? I would like to know if the school is accredited and once I finish if I will be able to use my schooling? And is there anyone who has gone through college for nutrition and now is working?

Kakie asked: Hi, so it’s time for me to really think about what undergrad degree I’m going to work towards. But the university where I’m going cancelled their dietetics degree program (Faculty of Biochemistry) They do still have a Nutrition program. So, what I want to know is: Is there any significant difference between a nutrition or dietetics degree? Could I still become a dietition with a nutrition degree?

trenchwatch asked: I have just graduated with a bachelors degree in nutrition and food science. I did not plan on taking this any further. Now I am taking the year off to apply to medical school. Medicine is my passion, but my chances of acceptance do not look good, so I am looking into a masters in human nutrition, and going on to get a PhD. I figure that I’ll still be involved in healthcare, even if it is not my first choice. Besides teaching and research, do you know of any career opportunities in nutrition and food science with either a masters or PhD? Thank you in advance for your answers.

Ashley asked:
What is your education and where did you obtain your degree(s)? Is there a difference in educational requirements to practice as a pharmacist today compared to when you graduated and what do you think of the changes? What is your opinion on nutritional and herbal supplements? What is a few of the issues with these supplements? What do you think of the switch from prescription to over the counter meds? What do you think is the nurse’s role in med admin and teaching? How do you think we can reduce med errors in ambulatory and inpatient settings? What do you think wil be some of the role changes for a pharmacist in the new century? What do you think are the 3 most important issues facing the profession of pharmacy today? Anything else you would like to discuss or add would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
