Take a vitamin B pill and see what happens.

That sounds more like your urine is concentrated so it always appears to be darker or orange. Are you also drinking lots of water? Diet soda’s are high in sodium so even if you are drinking a lot of liquid in form of diet soda - it isn’t really helping you in the long run. Diet soda is one of the sneakiest sources of salt. Also this will cause you to retain water - not lose it and it can in fact hide the fact that you are losing weight because the water retention will cause your numbers to be higher on the scale.

You don’t have to cut out the soda - but you still should be drinking plenty of water.

    I would guess no.

From what little I know about foods altering the color of your skin and/or urine the culprit usually comes in the way of a vitamin or mineral found naturally within the food. Being that orange soda is likely made with artificial dyes it’s probably processed out during digestion.

    Just a guess though.
