Best protein supplement for a Vegan weightlifter?
Mark ( asked:
The only non-vegan food in my diet is eggs which I take for the protein and B-vitamins. I would like to give up eggs, but I lift weights and am very active and I have found through past practice that I do not get enough protien when I am lifting weights just by combining foods.

I have heard too much Soy isn’t good. I don’t know much about Hemp protien
What is the best vegan protein supplement for a vegan who lifts weights and is any vegan protien supplement adequate on its own?

Egg protein is called a ‘complete protein’. Other than that and esply vegan proteins are deficient in one or the other aminoacids which thus makes them incomplete. So for any reason if you would like to avoid egg its better to have a combi of two sets of protein. Among veggies, all pulses ( red gram, bengal gram etc.,) and specially soya contains high quantity of proteins. It can be combined with cereals (rice, wheat) so that the protein content is ‘complete’. Most usually a high pulse diet causes flatulence. Other than that there are very few serious side effects. walia

Trim Advantage protein bars are wonderful and come in several flavors. My favorite is the roast peanut flavor. They have 23g of protein per bar. You can get them at kriz10
